Hi, my name is Bella! I am a senior Political Science major with a minor in Communication. After graduating, I plan to attend graduate school, earn a teaching certificate, and eventually attend more school to become a reading specialist. This is my second year with the writing center, and I truly believe that my experience so far will carry into my career! In terms of writing styles, I am most familiar with MLA, APA, as well as APSA. My strengths generally lie in research papers, argumentative essays, as well as current event pieces. However, I am open to assisting with any style that is presented! Outside of the Writing Center, I am a member of the Political Science Club! Some of my hobbies include spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, and going to the gym. Walt Disney World is my favorite place to go on vacation as well! I am looking forward to the new year and assisting students in enhancing their writing skills!

Hannah Adams [she/her/hers]

Hi! My name is Hannah. I am a Senior Biology major with a minor in English and Biochemistry. This is my third year at the writing center, and it is bittersweet that it will be my last! After I graduate, I intend to go to vet school to one day become a veterinarian. I am most familiar with writing in the styles of MLA and APA. I generally specialize in creative writing pieces, research papers, laboratory reports, and scientific articles. Having a positive demeanor and creating a safe space where people can express their needs is extremely important to me. I thoroughly enjoy guiding people in the ways of writing, whether it be through the rules of grammar or "bigger picture" ideas. Outside the classroom, I am the President of the Biology Club, the President of the Pre-Veterinary Club and the Pre-Vet Chair of HPO. I love to ride horses as the 日本av视频’s Equestrian Team treasurer. As a STEM major, I am often busy studying; however, I still find time to relax and have fun! If you need writing guidance, advice or anything in between, I am here to help!

Abigail Griesemer [she/her/hers]

Hi! I’m Abbey, I am a Senior Early and Primary Education major. I love reading, writing, and, most importantly, helping others learn. After graduation, I plan on becoming a 2nd-grade teacher, where I hope to use some of my skills from the Writing Center in my classroom. This is going to be my third year working as a writing consultant, and I couldn’t be more excited. I have the most familiarity with the writing formats of APA and MLA. However, I can help with all kinds of papers, such as creative writing, research papers, editorial styles, and so many other styles as well. Often, I find myself helping my friends with their papers, whether that be with style, tone, overall flow, or even grammar. Also, I believe whoever works with me will learn more about their own writing and help improve my writing skills.  I hope to be a friendly face to help you through your writing and any other challenges you may face when writing a paper for your classes.

Anha Islam [she/her/hers]

Hi, I'm Anha! I'm a junior Secondary Education and English major with a passion for art, music, and the outdoors! When I'm not busy, I like to wander around thrift stores or listen to my friends complain. I have the most experience with MLA and APA writing styles. My favorite types of papers to work on are argumentative or analytical/synthesis pieces, so I love working with rhetoric. I'm also very passionate about taking an individualized, holistic approach to teaching/learning, because my own struggles in school are what lead me to pursue education as a career. I'd love to help you brainstorm, organize your thoughts, or even articulate those out-there ideas. I'm excited to spend more time on campus and become a better writer, myself, by being a consultant for my peers!

Working as a Writing Consultant

Working in the Writing Center can be challenging and rewarding. Consultants develop a diverse perspective by working closely with a wide variety of students and disciplines. Being a consultant sharpens their own writing skills by giving them opportunities to view a multitude of writing samples and articulate their feedback. In servicing the campus community in this role, they live the Jesuit principle of “men and women for others.”
