Dr. JoyAnna Hopper is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science after joining the 日本av视频 faculty in Fall 2020. She earned a B.A. in Political Science from Eastern Illinois 日本av视频 and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from The 日本av视频 of Missouri. Her areas of specialization include public administration and policy and American politics.
Teaching and Research Interests:
Dr. Hopper teaches courses for the Political Science major and the Public Administration and Public Policy track, including courses in U.S. political institutions, social welfare and environmental policy, federalism, and research methods.
Dr. Hopper’s research focuses primarily on state-level environmental policy enforcement and the implications of bureaucratic structure. In her recent book, Environmental Agencies in the United States (Rowman and Littlefield: Lexington Books, 2020), she looks at the implications of environmental agency design for state-level environmental enforcement.
