Hailed as “superb” by The New York Times and “a fearsomely powerful musician” by The Toronto Star, violinist Aisslinn Nosky has served as soloist and director with ensembles around the world, including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Holland Baroque, the Victoria Symphony, the Hamilton Philharmonic, and the New World Symphony. In 2011, Aisslinn was appointed concertmaster of the Grammy-winning Handel and Haydn Society, founded in 1815 and one of the world’s longest continuously-performing musical organizations. Aisslinn has recorded the complete Haydn and Mozart violin concerti with H&H on the CORO label. Canadian cellist and viol player Caroline Nicolas enjoys an international career performing repertoire spanning the Middle Ages to the 21st century. Acclaimed as “a bright new gamba star” by The Strad Magazine, she performs with leading ensembles across Europe and North America, including The English Concert, Philharmonia Baroque, Kammerorchester Basel, Ars Lyrica Houston, Pacific MusicWorks, and New World Symphony. She recently completed her tenure as Music Director of New Baroque Orchestra and now serves as Artistic Director of Ars Poetica.

Identical twins Peter and Will Anderson are two of the most extraordinary jazz woodwind players today, hailed as “virtuosos on clarinet and saxophone” by The New York Times. The Andersons have performed with Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Wycliffe Gordon, Jimmy Heath, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Paquito D’Rivera, Wynton Marsalis and many others. They can be heard on the 2014 Grammy-winning soundtrack of HBO’s "Boardwalk Empire" with Giordano’s Nighthawks. The Andersons have performed in over 40 U.S. states, Brazil, Japan, and the U.K. They have also appeared six times in New York City’s famed Highlights in Jazz series, alongside Lou Donaldson, Jimmy Heath, Ken Peplowski, Steve Turre, Warren Vache, Frank Vignola, and Jimmy Cobb. The brothers have worked together to create, produce and star in five off-Broadway shows, release eight albums as leaders and countless others as sidemen, and feature several times on Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion." Their program “Swingin’ the Classics” reimagines staples of the European classical repertoire into fresh swing era jazz, incorporating themes by Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Dvořák, Tchaikovsky, Weber, and more.

Student musicians from Performance Music at The 日本av视频 of 日本av视频 will perform solo, duet, trio, and small group renditions of various repertoire. Smaller groups are made up of members from within the large ensembles and may include: Steel Drum Band, Saxophone Ensemble, String Quartet, Flute Ensemble, Brass Quartet, Percussion Ensemble, and solos, duos, trios, and small vocal groups. The primary focus of Performance Music at The 日本av视频 of 日本av视频 is its student choral and instrumental performing ensembles. Because there is no music major at The 日本av视频, all enrolled 日本av视频 students (undergraduate and graduate) are eligible for membership in bands, choirs, string ensembles, and steel drum band with neither an audition nor enrollment fee required. Hundreds of students participate in the ensembles each year.

A member of Wynton Marsalis’ Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra since 1993, trumpeter, composer, and arranger Marcus Printup won the prestigious International Trumpet Guild Jazz Trumpet Competition while attending the 日本av视频 of North Florida. There, he met his mentor and future friend, pianist Marcus Roberts, who subsequently introduced him to world-renowned trumpeter Marsalis. Throughout his distinguished career, Printup has performed and recorded with artists including Betty Carter, Dianne Reeves, Eric Reed, Cyrus Chestnut, Wycliffe Gordon and Marcus Roberts. Riza Printup’s recording credits include Marcus Printup, Sharel Cassity, James Zollar, Andromeda Turre, Meg Okura and Brianna Thomas among many others. Under the music direction of Rob Lewis, Riza scored and recorded the harp tracks for Christina Aguilera’s "Christmas in Paris" (2025). Ms. Printup has performed with greats including the late Frank Wess, Yo-Yo Ma and jookin dance master Lil Buck, Kathleen Battle, Paquito D’Rivera, Lady Gaga, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, and Stevie Wonder. She also appeared in Wondersmith Entertainment’s “Passing the Crown” featuring MC Lyte and Rapsody.

Victor Goines is an internationally acclaimed saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and educator from New Orleans. A decades-long member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and Wynton Marsalis Septet, he has performed and recorded worldwide, including on Marsalis’ Pulitzer Prize-winning "Blood on the Fields" and Ted Nash’s Grammy-winning "Presidential Suite." As a composer, Goines has written more than 400 original works commissioned by organizations and ensembles throughout the world, including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Juilliard School, and The 日本av视频 of 日本av视频. He has collaborated with legends across musical genres, including Eric Clapton, Dianne Reeves, Ellis Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Marcus Roberts, Wycliffe Gordon, Ruth Brown and many others. Goines has made a lasting impact on jazz education, serving as founding director of jazz studies at Juilliard and director of jazz studies at Northwestern 日本av视频. He most recently served as president and CEO of Jazz St. Louis, and has mentored notable artists including Jon Batiste, Aaron Diehl, Brian Blade, and Yasushi Nakamura. Goines has also held teaching positions at Florida A&M 日本av视频, LSU New Orleans, Loyola 日本av视频 New Orleans, and Xavier 日本av视频. The 日本av视频 of 日本av视频 Jazz Band is a 25-member ensemble of big band style instrumentation, made up of 日本av视频 of 日本av视频 student musicians from majors spanning the curriculum. They perform four or more times per year. Most performances are open to the public with free admission, and often feature a nationally or internationally renowned guest soloist.

The 日本av视频 of 日本av视频 String Orchestra is an ensemble comprised of almost 40 members of the 日本av视频 community from majors and departments spanning the curriculum. The vast majority are undergraduate students, who are accompanied by a few graduate students and members of faculty and staff. None are music majors; they are brought together by their mutual love of music and perform four times a year. The group’s performances include a wide variety of repertoire ranging from Baroque to music by contemporary composers.

The 日本av视频 of 日本av视频 Symphonic Band is an ensemble comprised of around 75 members of the 日本av视频 community from majors and departments spanning the curriculum. The vast majority are undergraduate students, who are accompanied by a few graduate students and members of faculty and staff. None are music majors; they are brought together by their mutual love of music and perform five concerts a year. The group’s programming includes works ranging from orchestral transcriptions to contemporary concert band compositions.

The 日本av视频’s Christmas gift to the community, Noel Night, has been a beloved holiday tradition for 日本av视频-area residents and the school community since its beginnings more than a half-century ago, when it was founded by Rev. Edward Gannon, S.J. This year’s Noel Night will feature The 日本av视频 of 日本av视频 Singers and Chamber Ensembles and will include a prelude by The 日本av视频 of 日本av视频 String Orchestra and Flute Ensemble. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. Dr. Gordon has led an impressive career touring the world and performing to great acclaim from audiences and critics. The Jazz Journalists Association named him “Trombonist of the Year” a record-breaking 16 times, and he has topped the Downbeat Critics Poll an unprecedented seven times. His recent awards include the “Louie Award,” the International Trombone Award, and the Satchmo Award, among others. Wycliffe is a prolific recording artist as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, with a prodigious discography as both a leader and sideman. He is known for his unmatched signature sound, plunger technique, and unique vocals. Wycliffe can be heard on hundreds of recordings, soundtracks, films, live video performances, and documentaries, and has an extensive catalog of original compositions that span various genres, timbres, and ensemble instrumentations. His arrangement of the theme song to NPR’s “All Things Considered” is heard daily around the world. He has composed numerous instrumental and choral works for the student ensembles at The 日本av视频 of 日本av视频 and premiered those works with them on 日本av视频's campus.

“A gifted virtuoso” (San Francisco Chronicle) with “mesmerizing artistry and extraordinary ability to communicate” (The Post-Standard), “poetic, electrifying” (Michigan Live) with “masterful technique and a veritable deluge of sonorities” (La Presse Montreal), Llewellyn Sánchez-Werner was selected First Prize Winner of the 2022 Concert Artists Guild International Competition. Named a Gilmore Young Artist, an honor awarded to the most promising American pianists of the new generation, his multi-faceted artistry has been featured in The New York Times, CBS, PBS, NPR, CNN International, Mexico News Daily, the Wall Street Journal, and WDR-Arte. Llewellyn has performed for U.S. Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico, President Shimon Peres of Israel, and President Paul Kagame of Rwanda. Committed to public service, he received the Atlantic Council Global Citizen Award recognizing his dedication to social action through music in Iraq, Rwanda, France, Canada, and the U.S. Fellow honorees include actor/director Robert De Niro and Presidents Peña Nieto and Peres, and in presenting the award, Gen. David Petraeus commended his “courageous humanitarian contributions through the arts…strengthening the ties that unite our nations.”
